Tattoo Education Disclaimer
Last updated: July 17, 2026
This Tattoo Education Disclaimer applies to all educational content offered by PERFORMIQ (“PERFORMIQ,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), including video training, workshops, written theory, downloadable resources, assessments, and certificates. Please read it carefully. By enrolling in or using any PERFORMIQ program, you acknowledge and agree to the statements below. This Disclaimer forms part of our Terms of Service.
1. Educational purpose
All PERFORMIQ content is provided for educational and informational purposes only. It is designed to teach concepts, techniques, safety practices, and professional standards associated with tattooing. It is not a substitute for hands-on supervised training, a formal apprenticeship, professional licensing, or the guidance of qualified health and safety authorities. Our programs teach you about the craft; they do not, by themselves, qualify or authorise you to tattoo any person.
2. No professional, medical, or legal advice
Tattooing involves breaking the skin and carries inherent health risks. Nothing in our content constitutes medical, health, or legal advice. Information we provide about hygiene, bloodborne pathogens, skin, aftercare, and safety is general in nature and may not reflect the specific requirements of your situation or jurisdiction. You should consult qualified professionals and your local health authority for advice specific to your circumstances, and you should never rely on our content as a substitute for required professional training or certification.
3. Licensing and legal compliance are your responsibility
Laws governing tattooing vary widely between countries, states, counties, and cities. Many jurisdictions require practitioners to hold specific licences or permits, to complete bloodborne pathogen training, to register their premises, to meet minimum-age requirements, and to follow detailed sanitation and record-keeping rules. It is entirely your responsibility to understand and comply with every law and regulation that applies to you before you practise tattooing on another person. Completion of a PERFORMIQ program does not grant, replace, or guarantee any licence, permit, registration, or legal authorisation of any kind.
4. Health and safety risks
Tattooing can cause infection, allergic reactions, scarring, bloodborne disease transmission, and other adverse outcomes if performed improperly or in unsanitary conditions. When you practise techniques you have learned, you assume full responsibility for your own safety and the safety of anyone you tattoo. Always work in a clean, appropriately equipped environment, use single-use and properly sterilised equipment, follow recognised sanitation protocols, obtain informed consent, and never work on a person where doing so would be unlawful, unsafe, or beyond your competence.
5. Practise on appropriate materials
Our programs encourage the use of synthetic practice skin and supervised, lawful practice environments while you develop your technique. You should not attempt procedures on human skin until you are lawfully permitted to do so, are properly equipped, and are confident in your competence and in your compliance with all applicable requirements. PERFORMIQ does not supervise your practice and has no ability to control the conditions in which you apply what you learn.
6. No guarantee of results
Individual results depend on many factors, including your existing skill, the time you invest in practice, your artistic aptitude, and your working conditions. PERFORMIQ makes no guarantee that you will reach any particular level of skill, obtain employment, build a client base, earn any specific income, or achieve any professional or artistic outcome. Any examples, timelines, or expectations described in our content are illustrative only and are not promises of results.
7. Assumption of risk and release
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you assume all risks associated with learning and practising tattooing, and you release PERFORMIQ and its owners, employees, instructors, and contractors from any and all liability for any injury, harm, loss, or damage — to yourself, to any person you tattoo, or to any third party — arising from your use of our content or your practice of tattooing. You are solely responsible for your actions and their consequences.
8. Certificates
A PERFORMIQ certificate of completion confirms that you have completed the corresponding educational program and any associated assessment. It is not an accreditation, licence, or government-recognised qualification unless expressly stated, and it does not authorise you to practise tattooing where a licence or permit is required. You should not represent a certificate of completion as a licence or as evidence of legal authorisation to tattoo.
9. Content accuracy
We take care to keep our educational content accurate and current, but standards, best practices, equipment, and regulations evolve. We do not warrant that all content is complete, current, or free of error, and we may update or revise content at any time. Where our guidance differs from a requirement imposed by your local authority, the local requirement prevails.
10. Changes to this Disclaimer
We may update this Tattoo Education Disclaimer from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Services after the changes take effect indicates your acceptance of the revised Disclaimer.
